Microsoft’s Office Live Workspace, which is still in beta, is part of its online applications offering that Microsoft hopes will help battle the onslaught of web-based applications. It acts as an extension of existing desktop software that we’ve all come to know and love, working with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

You’ll be able to store documents online and share them with others, as well as take advantage of its collaboration tools. We’ve already covered the private-beta launch of Microsoft Office Live Workspace (see here), and now here are a few screenshots that have been published via webpronews.

Sounds interesting, for now though I am really enjoying google docs. So if Microsoft Live Office is an extension of the existing desktop software, that means it will not work independently online. Correct me if I am wrong. Tks.

Doh! It would help if I followed the link before complaining about the small image sizes...though maybe you meant to make your thumbnails above clickable?

Looks nice, but VERY tiny... :P Looking forward to this. I hope they make the saving to/from as seamless as possible. Also, I'm hoping for some kind of sync to/from the desktop to OLW.
