There are some rumors going around that Pandora may be adding some music videos to its service, alongside its offering of streaming audio music. The rumors go on to say that Pandora has been in talks with some of the big players in the music industry, and looking to get music videos from sources like MTV for added content.

Additionally, the rumors indicate that Pandora users may be able to create their own videos for music that has no video associated. We asked Pandora about all of these rumors, and the team responded with an obligatory “No Comment.” To make matters more interesting (or confusing), Pandora then said that its unsure whether the article publishing this rumor is referring to music videos or advertising.

So where does that leave things? With the fees increasing for Internet radio broadcasters, we’ve seen a few services like Fiql and Last.fm add music videos, often streamed from video-sharing sites like YouTube. What’s handy about this type of video inclusion is that it adds content without adding many costs, and provides another potential channel for advertising distribution, which is quite the trendy thing to do these days.

We wouldn’t be surprised if Pandora did in fact offer video, and quality video at that. Sealing deals with music companies preserves branding through videos that are shown, and could provide additional revenue for Pandora.
