Grooveshark, the P2P music community and marketplace, has signed Clear Voice Surveys as an advertising partner, with a special promotion for users. With sponsorship from Clear Voice, all songs on Grooveshark are only 29 cents for 24 hours after you sign in. Clear Voice is covering the rest of the cost of songs, which are sold by users.

With Grooveshark’s system, the main goal was always to create a marketplace where artists have more control over their music sales, and users can take advantage of the marketplace as well. When someone downloads a song from you on Grooveshark, you automatically earn 25 cents. So the original artist gets the royalties, Grooveshark users get an incentive for promoting music, and Grooveshark gets advertising revenue in a unique and helpful way.

With the likes of Radiohead taking control of their music sales, rights and distribution, we’re only going to be seeing more and more creative ways in which to buy, sell and market music. Similar to SpiralFrog, Clear Voice’s sponsorship on Grooveshark lets advertising supplement music sales, and gets access to a lot of people, as free downloads will always be popular.

This is the second time Grooveshark has offered 29 cent downloads, with the first run as a way to gain exposure. With a sponsorship crowning its second run, Grooveshark has introduced another stream of revenue.
