Facebook users are about to enjoy thousands of clips from the movie library of Paramount Pictures.

According to Ryan Nakashima of Associated Press, Fanrocket is launching a new Facebook app named VooZoo that will allow network users to send each others clips from their favorite movies from the available Paramount catalogue. The clips will stretch the entire history of one of the oldest Hollywood studios, and will range from a few seconds to several minutes in length. As time progresses, the tool will also be used to promote upcoming projects from the company, such as the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Fanrocket is talking with other studios, but seeing as it took Paramount a year to prepare the clips, it will be some time before any other films show up on the service.

At the end of each clip will be a button to purchase a DVD of the corresponding film.

Danny Kastner, the founder of Fanrocket, told the AP that he hopes to get a few hundred thousand users for the new service within two months of its launch. As for how much money Paramount hopes to make from this venture, luckily Paramount’s senior vice president of entertainment, Derek Broes, is realistic about it, saying “My benchmark for success is that people are joining and sending.”
