Earlier today we reported a rumor that Digg may be looking to acquire popular Spanish language social news site Menéame. Menéame co-founder Ricardo Galli got back to us, adding some definite fuel to the speculative fire:
"We - more specifically Martin - had some friendly conversations with some Digg masterminds about Menéame’s current situation and future plans. Menéame is growing just too fast for us alone, we need to take some important business oriented steps and we think it would be great to find a way for collaboration. They were very amicable so far. That's all."
Sounds like there could definitely be something brewing with this one as Digg continues to move beyond tech news. Stay tuned.
