Google Transit

Google Transit, a Google Maps feature that shows you public transportation options on the map, now works in certain European areas.

Not only can you see public transportation info on the maps, you can also plan entire routes in Europe. The following transit companies and places are currently supported:

- Travel South East, UK
- SBB, Switzerland (train, ferries and long distance bus coverage)
- VBZ, Zurich, Switzerland
- Gruppo Torinese Trasporti, Turin, Italy
- ATAF, Florence, Italy

It’s nice for starters, but full European coverage is still far off. Let’s hope that Google will now speed things up a bit in this neck of the woods.
