New Zune Launching Tomorrow; Will Customization Options Help Move Units? - SendMeRSS
Posted by elveston priory at 6:02 pmMicrosoft is giving music consumers a new device to play with, available tomorrow. And by give, I mean sell. And by users, I mean the rumored four or five people with a Zune.
Zune users traditionally have been hard to come by, but Microsoft aims to change that now with its latest push. In addition to the moves the company is making to cater to the podcasting community, Microsoft is also creating what it is calling the “Original’s Store.” The store will allow folks to customize their Zunes with laser engravings or personalized text.

Aside from all the fixins, the Zune will come in three price varieties, ranging from $149 to $249.
The upgraded Zune Marketplace promises to be the real draw to the new Zune. In addition to the podcasting initiatives that Rob Greenlee and his team are working on, for those worried about the passing for Yahoo’s music initiatives, the Zune Pass will be available to Zune users, allowing access to “millions of songs for about the price of one CD per month.”
