Well known international pop and house star Kylie Minogue (sister to another well-known artist Danii Minogue) has launched her own social network this weekend. The site doesn’t offer the next killer-app, and so far as we know isn’t a launch partner on the OpenSocial initiative, but it does have a number of features so far unavailable on MySpace or Facebook: scantily-clad images of Kylie and unreleased tracks.

Most of the wire-fed news sites seem to be quoting the same “un-named source” on the features of the site, claiming it’s not yet available to the public, though registration seems to be available to accept new users. A quick attempt at logging in, myself, was unsuccessful, as you seem to need a European based mobile phone number to qualify through the registration.

From what I can read in the feature list, and the usability in the site, it appears to have a legitimate business model in mind with an aim to make money, as opposed to simply being a fan portal for the pop-star. Users of the social network will be able to contact Kylie through her profile on the site, where they can also read her pesrsonal blog and video gallery.

Minogue-based wallpapers and ringtones appear to be also available for sale through the site as well.
