The Daily Poll

Facebook has finally announced their advertising plans and there is quite a bit to digest. Reporting data from third-party web sites into the Facebook feeds, new commercial pages for various brands, and detailed demographic analysis for advertisers. There are certainly plenty of new ways for Facebook to make money and ways for advertisers to promote their message, but, what will be the end result? And thus, the Daily Poll:

Well, the big thing is to let them know if you start to feel that ads are too intrusive. An ad here or there won't bother me, but if they're everywhere I look, then I'm probably not going to go there as often, and that's going to hurt them. It's important for users of a website to voice their opinions and concerns to the powers-that-be when they feel that there's a problem.

Facebook is in a race to monetize their service. They have a lot to prove: 1)Their monster valuation 2)They can do better without opensocial/Google 3)Their ability to go IPO I am a bit concerned with the facts that these are changes thay may affect my overall user experience in Facebook, I don't know what will happen if the ads or the ad-feeds get too obtrusive. I just hope that in the quest of trying to be more successful than what you are, they won't forget their users. www.octabox.com
