We already have startup schwag. Now what do you do when you’re not a startup, but you still want schwag? Better still, what do you do when you’re a VC and you still want schwag? In that case, you can head over to VCwear and buy a “really cool” t-shirt. Or… you could buy the entire company! Woot!
As PE Hub notes, the founders of VCwear, which launched the site last week, aren’t really looking for funding. They’re looking for a buyer. The buy-it-now price? Only $100,000. For the t-shirt printer and all the brain power that went into thinking of the existing shirt designs, I’m sure. I thought the whole “we’re for sale, buy our site” bit was part of the big joke, but it’s not.
Reading VCwear’s pitch, however, keeps me scratching my head (while laughing all the while):
“VCs already spend billions on things every year that are pointless, and they can't even wear that shit."
So true, right? In a tangential sort of way….
Whatever the case may be, if your Horrible Hump Day was in need of a giggle, head on over to VCwear and read the “signage” on the shirts for sale.
User comment: By: Micah Baldwinthis site is special and there are olympics for it. What a waste of 5 minutes. I hope you sell out so that you can buy a friggin clue you morons. In fact, I will buy two shirts just to help fund the rehab you two crack smokers clearly need.
User comment: By: Andrew HydeSite was launched about 24 hours ago, and was built on a plane ride from IND -> DIA. I am hoping you picked up on all the snark we put down.
User comment: By: kThey even have a shopping cart where you can add the whole company...??? "keeps me scratching my head (while laughing all the while)" - same here.
User comment: By: nmalaguti$100 for a freaking t-shirt? I might have bought one for $20 but I'll stick with threadless. Good luck selling your company.
