Yahoo General Counsel Michael Callahan apologized to Congress for not providing details regarding the company's role in providing information to the Chinese government in the Shi Tao case. In a statement, Callahan said:

"Months after I testified before two House subcommittees on Yahoo's approach to business in China, I realised Yahoo had additional information about a 2004 order issued by the Chinese government seeking information about a Yahoo China user. I neglected to directly alert the committee of this new information and that oversight led to a misunderstanding that I deeply regret and have apologised to the committee for creating."

Tao was arrested in 2004 after Yahoo provided the Chinese government with information from his Yahoo Mail account. He was originally charged with providing "state secrets to foreign entities" which prompted the investigation by the Chinese. Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang is also scheduled to testify about the matter on November 6th.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you about what we did because China is a big country and could outgrow the US market. So, I wanted to be nice to China so they will use Yahoo in the future.. Sorry. FYI.. That was troll comment.
