Firefox 2.0.0.8 Released; Enables Leopard Compatibility - Rmail
Posted by elveston priory at 11:15 pmYou might want to think twice before hitting yes on the Firefox update nag screen today. Firefox 2.0.0.8 is out today, released by Mozilla. The update fixes several compatibility and security issues, and now works with Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard.”
Some who have installed the browser update also report other new issues created, as well, including problems with some media plugins, Adobe Flash content failing on Intel-based Mac systems, and the ‘close other tabs’ function failing when more than 20 tabs are open.
The security fixes do plug several holes on Windows, Linux and Apple platforms. The holes fixed by this update were exploitable by common trojans and worms circulating the net currently, so unless you are a power-browser or an Intel-based Mac user, the security update is probably a good idea.

User comment: By: Jeffro2pt0I knew this was going to be released today two days prior :) I forgot about it though. I'll upgrade anyways just because I enjoy problems LOL
User comment: By: meThanks for the notice. I updated :)
User comment: By: Cory DuncanThe issues with Flash on Intel-based Macs was happening before the 2.0.0.8 release. I can't say for sure which release introduced that bug, but I did see it in 2.0.0.7
